Loren Teague

It is with the greatest of sadness that I give the news of Hale author, Loren Teague's death.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Loren lost her fight, and we lose a treasured person and a gifted story teller.

I received an email from her only a few weeks ago and she was still being positive and excited about her latest book from Hale.

I wish to extend my personal, and I'm sure all Hale authors', sincere condolences to Loren's family and friends at this difficult time.
After Glow
I'd like the memory of me
to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an after glow
of smiles when life is done.
I'd like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times
and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve,
to dry before the sun of happy memories
that I leave when life is done

Rest In Peace Loren.

Loren had such energy and determination. She fought a long battle bravely. I really mourn her passing. Her novels gave her much satisfaction and are an admirable legacy.

Such sad news.
Loren was well known and respected in the New Zealand writing community, especially in her home town of Nelson and she will be sorely missed.
Her latest book, An Italian Affair, published by Hale is due for publication in February.
I'm sure Loren would have been delighted to see the book's cover, if not to see the published copy, and to know that she had left her own unique imprint on the writing world.
My heartfelt condolences to her husband and son.

Loren Teague began an article at livinglegacies.co.nz: "`Death is the ultimate journey,' my mother used to say."

The article also shared the title of her successful Hale novel. May Loren's Ultimate Journey be filled with peace.

Strictly speaking that should have said "shared in part" the title of the novel, which was, of course, Ultimate Betrayal. "Journey" was the word used in the article's title.

And in some sense we are all betrayed when lives are cut short so early.

Loren will be remembered because of her determination, her courage, her kindness towards others, and her thoughtfulness.

Her battle is over now.

My sincerest condolences to her family and loved ones.

I will miss Loren very much. She was so genuine and a true friend.

As well as her wonderful books for Robert Hale, Loren wrote a wonderful story of Scotland
"Highland Rebel" published by Whiskey Creek Press and well worth chasing up.

Here you will see that Loren was a worthy member of "Na fir deleas"

I'd like to express my sadness too that Loren has passed on. We met over the Internet and once in person, when she made her trip home to Scotland. We had a lovely long lunch at Leakey's bookshop in Inverness where we talked our heads off and laughed a lot. It was like meeting up with a long-lost sister.

She was brave, she was beautiful, she was talented. My husband Will joins me in sending our deepest condolences to Loren's husband and son and to her family and relatives in Scotland.

I only learned of Loren’s passing today- I believe it must be almost exactly a year. I am one of her long-lost first cousins from Scotland, (now living in New Jersey). I am so sad and shocked- she hadn’t been in touch since Spring 2009, and when I didn’t hear back from her I presumed she was just busy. When I checked her web-site it had not been up-dated with the sad news.

We were only aquainted for a couple of years through emails and photos, however, I could tell that she was a wonderful and kind person.

My sisters and I are looking for a way to contact Andrew and Sam- we only have Loren’s email address. If someone could post that or email it to me I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

With a heavy heart,

Karen
