The Poplar Penny Whistlers

Just received from Hale the 'rough' for the jacket of The Poplar Penny Whistlers. The artist's interpretation is just as I imagined the picture myself - I am thrilled to bits! The artist is Barbara Walton. I am told the book will be published next February - it seems a long time to wait, but par for the course, as they say... Meanwhile the latest work is gaining momentum! May be it the same for all of you. Sheila Newberry

Glad you're pleased with it, Sheila.
I've just seen the cover 'rough' for Murder Fortissimo. The artist is Chris Brown who also did my Victorian mystery covers. This time it's a modern mystery and I asked for lots of blood! (And music). Chris has provided me with both - can't wait to see the finished version!

It must be cover season. I've recently seen David Young's rough for The Kydd Inheritance, my Regency prequel.

I think it's important to like your covers. I complained about the rough for A COVERT WAR, and explained how I thought it should look. Fortunately Hale agreed and designed the book jacket as I requested.
